The staff was great and the place was fun, but I hope that the kinks get worked out and the recipes are tweaked and this place does well for the town Blake calls home.
I might also suggest a different colored marinade because pink and chicken just don't mix. :)
I want so much to give this place 5 stars because I love Blake. To be fair, the restaurant and bar had only been open three days when I visited seven hours from Arkansas.
The atmosphere was great, the food was good but not what I expected from the south! Brussel sprouts should not be cooked with raisins, where is the bacon!? The salad was good. The prime rib tasted like a brisket! The wife ordered rib eye and was brought prime rib! We were not charged for it. Don't know if the waitress messed up or if the kitchen was out as she stated. All the staff was friendly and had a great time. We will return!
Still, it was a turnoff and I didn't eat a whole lot afterward. The drive home wasn't fun.
However, I was hoping for a better experience in way of the food as I am a foodie at heart.
Price is a little high. Ha e been there 3 times so far and the food was ok but my Mac & cheese 2 times was cold. Had a few other issues. They need a little more quality control. Love Blake and keep going back because of him but if things don’t change we won’t go back. Hoe it gets better
I ordered the roast chicken (without the Nashville hot sauce) and when I finally was able to cut into it, a pool of pink leaked out. When I questioned it, our waitress (who was great, as was all the staff, by the way), said the marinade used is pink and assured me that was what it was.
Good food, great service. We had three tables of family and they staff was attentive and kept the food coming. Hush puppies were the best next to the green tomatoes for appetizers! The coffee crusted pork chops are to die for! Even though the Speaker of the House, Blake and Gwen showed up the wait staff kept our tables covered good. It’s a great place to go in a great little town.
My wife and I were visiting Dallas and decided to drive up to check out this place. The food is amazing! Everything was perfection, and we even splurged on two appetizers, so tried quite the variety of items. The interior is so cool. I couldn't help but look around at the different features - what appeared to be original roof trusses, cool lights, Blake's music memorabilia. You have to see the back wall, too. A few people here said the food is expensive. They must be crazy cheap, because it's not. Unless you're expecting fast food prices or something. You definitely get what you pay for. The locals are crazy friendly, and we're from Iowa, where we know friendly. My wife wanted a picture in front of the building, and a group of teenagers stopped walking along the sidewalk to let us get the shot. Awesome experience all around.
